Having being spotted on social media with both Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel during official celebrations this year, Lutz Huelle is a living proof that Europe is not working so bad. German born, trained at Central Saint Martin’s College in London, living in Paris and recently appointed as creative director for Spanish brand Delpozo, the designer knows what he’s talking about when he refers to the art of travel. Wearing dramatic pieces when you’re supposed to be just relaxed and comfortable seems to be a very interesting challenge and starting point for his überchic FW2019/2020 collection. But we’re not lost in translation as we easily find all his most famous signatures. The bomber jacket (always reworked in partnership with Alpha Industries) is hybridized with a tone-on-tone blanket for jet lagged mornings. The lantern shaped sleeves are giving the right couture touch to the jackets while permanently creased dresses remain always impeccable, even after a long haul flight. Silver jacquard is paired with easy mohair knitwear, to break the codes and the usual boundaries between daywear and eveningwear.
