LUTZ HUELLE S/S 2016 “I was thinking about easy, almost slouchy clothes that are also sculptural and dramatic, a sort of twisted, excentric simplicity. Zipped Shoulders and sleeves on outerwear and elasticated seams that pull the volume of oversized Coats and Shirts. Nylon rib worn over shirts to act as corsets. Denim and pleated silk and mesh mixed together. Oversized Sequins and shards of silver plexi, and Sequins are embroidered on squares of organza and fixed as Motifs on Tops and Dresses. Finally two of my favourite things from the past- the fringed Men’s Blazer and a Parka worn as cocktail Dress make a re-appearance, somehow they felt right again, and because they make me happy.”

Un équilibre contemporain, moucheté d’or, barbouillé de simplicité. Il a éclaboussé, repeint ses laines précieuses de peinture métallisées. Il a noué sur l’avant une robe tablier sans manche d’un noir profond, il a enroulé l’écharpe intégrée d’un manteau pour en inventer une pièce hybride, mi-cape, mi-manteau de cocher.

LUTZ HUELLE F/W 2015 ‘Precious and Un-Precious, spraying sheepskin with Gold, crumpling up Silk and printing it with Goldleaf, using Safety Pins as Embroidery or splashes of paint stitched in Gold, wrapping up warm in lengths of wool or just throwing them over the shoulders, cutting knits and silks together, and finally, my beloved Bomberjacket made in different treated sheepskins.’

LUTZ HUELLE S/S 2013 ‘Gestures’ I was thinking of gestures, poise – how a simple tilt of the head, a flick of the shoulders, the way one leg advances to balance the body, hands in pockets, can transform the most mundane situation into one of grace and beauty . The staples of an everyday wardrobe, infused with a “couture like” spirit : lowering the neckline and raising the waist, turning embroidered crystals into graphic prints, elongating a baseball jacket with silk organza, and cutting a parka in fluid crocodile print georgette.

LUTZ HUELLE No.28 S/S 2014 ‘The Getaway’ Deciding to just spend the day at the beach instead of going to work, the sun and water bleaching the surface and leaving traces on tailored Jackets, Knits and Dresses.

LUTZ HUELLE F/W 2013 ‘Egon Schiele’ Inspired by the paintings of Egon Schiele, this collection is about surface and movement. I wanted clothes that are easy but in a complex way, formal but comfortable, extreme clothes for everyday life – in a way the essence of what my collections have always been about. I also wanted an underlying sensuality, showing the body in unexpected ways.
