After finishing the Pre-Collection for Delpozo there was about one and a half months left to make the Main Collection for FW 2019.. so we decided to make this as a ‘Studio Collection’, without a Fashion Show and without using my name officially. It gave me the possibility to get to know the team, the atelier, put down some bases, and also present my vision of Delpozo to the House : Combining the beautiful dream-like quality that Josep Font had created with a certain sense of everyday life- a dream steeped in reality so to say 🤗So here are a few looks from this ‘ in-between’ collection..Getting this finished in such a short time would never have been possible without the help of the wonderful and enthusiastic and incredibly talented team in both the studio and the atelier ! If this collection worked out it’s because of all of these amazing people ❤️And a special Thank you to Pepe Lobez for the beautiful photos, and the most wonderful and lovely Luz Sanchez Godin whose mother Violeta Sanchez had modeled for Jesus Del Pozo in the 80s .. and whose beauty here still makes my heart flutter.

Here’s a little something I never talked about before – my first-ever work for DELPOZO. The Pre-Fall 2019 had already been started by the team when I arrived, so I took over materials and colours, adding and subtracting, working on shapes and colour combinations.. this was literally finished in weeks, and my first experience with both the team and the atelier, incredible both on a professional as well as human level. This could have been a terribly stressful situation but turned out utterly joyful , thanks to the wonderful team at Delpozo .. We shot the photos with Pepe Lobez in 2 days just before Christmas in Madrid and all left for the Christmas holidays in the highest of spirits.Oh and the photo with the knitted sweater became, against all expectations, the most liked photo ever on the Delpozo Instagram.

One of the reasons why David and me finally decided to start our own company was because it enabled us to decide who we wanted to work with and what kind of atmosphere we wanted – we spend such a huge amount of our lives working, so why not make sure that it is in a positive, inspiring atmosphere? Why not make sure that people would come to work in the morning with pleasure and enthusiasm? I am convinced that we all work best ( I know I do ) when the work atmosphere is positive and for me it shows when something was made not in suffering but with joy. I have always chosen my jobs accordingly, the human aspect being just as important as the rest, maybe that is why I can count the negative experiences on one hand ( one finger to be honest haha.) The Collaboration with AZ Factory was one of those things where everything just came together, and it remains one of the most brilliant experiences of my professional career.

How to launch a Fashion House without a penny to your name: 1.Assemble all the courage you have and even the courage you never knew you had ..2.Leave your flat and move in with your boyfriend, then use the money to rent a room somewhere behind the Gare du Nord which doubles as both office and to stock your stuff ( mainly books, magazines and vintage clothes) 3.Spend a year working on a first collection, deciding that you will just follow your instincts and do what you like: Street- and Sportswear as Fashion, elevated by taking it out of context, re-inventing, re-making, re-assembling. 4.Start working as a freelance designer in Italy, with the money finance a first show at a friend’s studio space and hope that people will turn up …5.When they do have a moment of sheer panic , then scramble together a linesheet with prices, clean up the studio as best you can and start answering the phone. 6.Sell to 14 stores, amongst them some of the most famous in the world without knowing how to produce a single piece ..7.Pack the collection into a suitcase , take the night train to Italy and criss-cross the country with your suitcase and a terrible german accent in search of a factory that believes in what you are doing .. and this being Italy you find one !😎 .. Bingo! A Fashion House named LUTZ is born ! 🤗 ..oh and win the @andamfashionaward and the sky is the limit 😎 and here’s a little advice : If you believe in what you are doing then NEVER GIVE UP ! ❤️💪

Spring Summer 2017 Backstage at the Yoyo Club at Palais de Tokyo . This was what was dubbed the ´Club Collection’ in the Press, for me it was just a glorious mix of everything I liked , shown in the subterranean confines of one of the best club spaces in Paris. The collection had more colour than ever, and it marked the debut of the Couture Influence, visible in the orange jacket on Suzi. Photos by Giasco Bertoli
