Here’s a little preview of some of the pieces for the coming Fall/ Winter 2023 Collection 🤗 There’s the Wrap Coat, constructed out of a square of water-repellent technical cotton, the Slant Denim Jacket made from a selected vintage piece with an insert of technical cotton, turning it into a double-breasted Denim Jacket, the Duvet Bomber, the Sparkle Jacket 💫 the Capucine Jacket, (a Baseball Jacket with tulip sleeves in pink faille), the Magic Dress (cut from a square shape of knife pleats flowing around the body) the Fleur Top (a new, more dramatic version of our Couture T-Shirts with rounded sleeves in Taffetas) , the Scar Denim Jacket with its rounded hourglass shape cut into an oversized Denim Jacket, and finally the Silver Band Denim Pants, printed with a band of metallic silver foil at the front 😎 .. any early favourites?
Every now and then while scrolling through my photos I come across images of the fittings of the ‘Lost Collection’ at Delpozo – the one that would have officially been my debut show. I am still just a little sad at all the lost potential- It was the perfect situation of a brilliant team and incredible pattern cutters and atelier.. some of the most beautiful and beautifully made pieces I’ve ever seen in my life were made there- such care and love was involved in making these garments.I do hope that somehow one day this gorgeous brand will be resurrected and shine again .. in the meantime here are a few images of what could have been. .. and my sincere and heartfelt thank you goes out to every single person I had the privilege to work with at Delpozo ❤️
People have always asked when we would start a Men’s Collection, and it’s been on the cards for long time .. As long as we exist guys have bought pieces of the women’s collection and I have always loved a men’s jacket or shirt worn by a woman. During lockdown I started trying on the more couture-influenced pieces of the collection and, instead of it looking forced or strange it seemed to me just a different way of looking at masculinity. The next season I started adding a few unisex pieces , and I put some guys in some of the more dramatic styles , always mixing with denim or army, or simple Tshirts . Here’s a collection of past men’s looks , including the Bombers and Denim that have become Signatures. What do you think? Would you wear pink ? 😈
After finishing the Pre-Collection for Delpozo there was about one and a half months left to make the Main Collection for FW 2019.. so we decided to make this as a ‘Studio Collection’, without a Fashion Show and without using my name officially. It gave me the possibility to get to know the team, the atelier, put down some bases, and also present my vision of Delpozo to the House : Combining the beautiful dream-like quality that Josep Font had created with a certain sense of everyday life- a dream steeped in reality so to say 🤗So here are a few looks from this ‘ in-between’ collection..Getting this finished in such a short time would never have been possible without the help of the wonderful and enthusiastic and incredibly talented team in both the studio and the atelier ! If this collection worked out it’s because of all of these amazing people ❤️And a special Thank you to Pepe Lobez for the beautiful photos, and the most wonderful and lovely Luz Sanchez Godin whose mother Violeta Sanchez had modeled for Jesus Del Pozo in the 80s .. and whose beauty here still makes my heart flutter.
Knitwear is one of my favourite things and here’s a little list of past favourites. Any Favourites? I do have a soft spot for the gloved pockets .. and to anyone owning one of these pieces – you’re lucky .. They weren’t produced in huge quantities so by now are RARE 😇 Big thanks to Deanna Veroni and Annalice Bisi , Bruno Malvezzi and Antonella Pelati at LOMA MAGLERIA❤️❤️❤️
Here’s a little something I never talked about before – my first-ever work for DELPOZO. The Pre-Fall 2019 had already been started by the team when I arrived, so I took over materials and colours, adding and subtracting, working on shapes and colour combinations.. this was literally finished in weeks, and my first experience with both the team and the atelier, incredible both on a professional as well as human level. This could have been a terribly stressful situation but turned out utterly joyful , thanks to the wonderful team at Delpozo .. We shot the photos with Pepe Lobez in 2 days just before Christmas in Madrid and all left for the Christmas holidays in the highest of spirits.Oh and the photo with the knitted sweater became, against all expectations, the most liked photo ever on the Delpozo Instagram.
AZ Factory x Lutz Huelle Spring/Summer 2023 .. Tailoring and Denim, 3D Pleats and Floral Camouflage, Shirts and Dresses inspired by Bathing Suits and couture ruffles .. and gloves with poufs 😈
One of the reasons why David and me finally decided to start our own company was because it enabled us to decide who we wanted to work with and what kind of atmosphere we wanted – we spend such a huge amount of our lives working, so why not make sure that it is in a positive, inspiring atmosphere? Why not make sure that people would come to work in the morning with pleasure and enthusiasm? I am convinced that we all work best ( I know I do ) when the work atmosphere is positive and for me it shows when something was made not in suffering but with joy. I have always chosen my jobs accordingly, the human aspect being just as important as the rest, maybe that is why I can count the negative experiences on one hand ( one finger to be honest haha.) The Collaboration with AZ Factory was one of those things where everything just came together, and it remains one of the most brilliant experiences of my professional career.
